Once a week I send out an email to my blog subscribers on the best practical tools, tips, and thoughts I encountered during the week. I focus on content that optimizes our Body, Mind, and Soul. I'm experimenting with this concept as I go.

This photo was taken during one of our final dress rehearsals before opening the theatre production, Koniging Lear Dir. by Marthinus Basson, at the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town. In this photo, Antoinette Kellermann (Konging Lear) and Matthew Stuurman (Aziz) are trying to understand this crazy junkie tripping out. I've never learned so much during any acting project like this one. So grateful to the whole cast, such incredible actors, and gave so much of themselves.
This week's Triple Threat Thursday is a good one and I wanted to share it with a broader audience. After this week, I'll be going back to normal, only sending the weekly email to subscribers, and stick to the blog posts on my homepage.
The weekly Triple Threat list will follow a basic structure; valuable and effective information on Body (health, fitness, biohacks, beauty, nutrition), Mind (purpose, philosophy, inspirational stories, challenging ideas, productivity, prioritization techniques, must-watch films), and Soul (all things spiritual; quotes, passages, stories & joyful fuel)
Body...
I've been doing this exercise/training twice a week to eliminate any back pain and align my posture. This is what the core foundation training does for your body: "Millions of people suffer from chronic pain, you don’t have to be one of them. Discover the secret that thousands of people are using to feel stronger, healthier, and more pain-free than they thought possible. The human body is amazingly complex, designed to adapt to almost any situation we face in life. Yet even our amazing bodies can start to break down from the wear and tear of our modern lifestyles." Core Foundation Training.
I've been doing this for over 4 months now, and I haven't had any back pain since. Worth a try.
Mind...
This inspired me like crazy this week - this video was sent to me by my cousin, where David Bowie gives advice to creatives. Anyone battling with worrying too much what other people think of them or their projects, take one minute and watch this magic.
The people's pleasing battle... tell me about it!! Being in the process of creating a dream project myself, I tend to hear that familiar voice asking: "What will "that" person think? Or, what will "they" say? Is it good enough"
It's usually when I'm busy creating something I'm truly passionate about or when the project is really important to me when that voice is at it's loudest. But the times I get into a flow state or into-the-zone, whether on a theatre stage or walking in nature or cooking a complex recipe or listening to my favorite music, that's when the voice disappears for a few seconds. Silence. Deep meaning without thinking. I feel without thinking about how I feel. I'm just present. My true self having fun expressing, playing, and being. That's when I create meaningful things and when meaningful moments seem to jump at me.
Soul...
After a few months, I picked up this book again, Tribe Of Mentors by Tim Ferris, and what an insightful and inspirational read. A quote from the book:
"Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise, instead, seek what they sought."
Matsuo Bashô.
